• The site should adapt to your system darkmode settings, but if not or if you want to override it then see local settings
• The site may sometimes mishandle zooming. To reset what is considered 100% zoom, there is another option in local settings.
• As the name implies you do not need to be signed in to alter these settings, and they do not persist between different browsers

assets

• You may change the description, content warnings and whether the asset should be served to children for assets that you own
• If you have the correct permissions you may change these things for assets you do not own. Administrators can assign permissions and administrators have all permissions
• Please provide content warnings on assets where appropriate. You may also use them as spoiler warnings though please specify what you're spoiling

blocking

• You cannot block an administrator. They would not be able to do their jobs otherwise
• Blocked users are automatically unfollowed
• You will not see posts or comments from blocked users and they will not see them from you

expression

• You may change your display name, biography, profile picture and pronouns as often as you wish
• If your profile picture carries content warnings, it will render as the letters CW until users click on it and accept the warnings in the popup unless they have persistently dismissed all content warnings on your profile picture
• Your birthday may never be changed, but you may hide it or have it rounded to a certain subset of years
• You may set the visibility of your profile to either all users, logged in user or only logged in users with a birthday more than 18 years in the past
• Your biography is rendered in markdown

• If you follow a user you will receive a notification each time they post
• From the main post browser page you may view a stream made up of only your followers or only your followed tags
• You may view a list of your followed users and tags in for me settings

image posts

• The file size limit for assets is 2²³ bytes or about 8 Megabytes

notifications

• You receive notifications when users you follow create posts or when users reply to your comments
• You may also receive notifications from the system from time to time, for example when the terms of service change

tags

• Some tags such as #lgbt tags get rendered as fancy-tags, for example . Popular tags have a higher chance of getting promoted to fancy-tags
• You can click on a tag on a post header to show other posts with the same tag
• You will then be shown a prompt asking if you wish to follow that tag

text posts

• Text posts are rendered as markdown. They do not permit embedding HTML
• You can upload markdown documents in other posts if you prefer to use an offline markdown editor like ghostwriter instead of the web editor

security

• You may only change your sign in username once every 6 months
• You may change your password at any time
• Both passwords and One Time Passwords are supported
• You may disable your password as long as you have an alternate authentication option
• You may set the threshold for required factors of authentication. For example, if you have passwords and One Time Passwords but your minimum factors of authentication is 1, then you only need either or to sign in. If your minimum factors of authentication is 2 then you need both
• You cannot set the required factors of authentication to more than the available factors of authentication
• You may remotely signout other sessions
